I still can’t believe it
What happend to the Wings? Granted, Pittsburgh surely played really well in games 6 and 7, but is there anyone who really thought Pittsburgh could come back? Not me, now way no how. Yet, here we are 3 days later and we’re still shaking our heads here in Detroit wondering how the Penguins skated off with Lord Stanley’s Cup!
Marc-Andre Fluery was the single reason they won, I don’t care what anyone says. Talbot was in the right place at the right time for his goals, while he capitalized on his breaks, Fluery was the main reason they won.
The Wings looked like they were skating in mud at times, in other words…they were just plain out of gas. Sure there were a few guys hurt, but even hurt I still think they are better than the Pens. They were just plain tired. Now Detroit has a whole summer of questions concerning Hossa and other restricted and un-restricted free agents. They will make changes…great teams always do so they can remain great…but where will the changes come from? I’m not going to sit here and analyze, I will reflect on the great season and playoff run the Wings had though. This is the greatest organization in sports, they will be back…perhaps starting with next year.
GO WINGS!
